Short itinerary for visiting Turin in one day, I know,  it’s not much time, but we try to give “you an hand”  so you’ll visit known monuments but not only
 Departure from Villa della Regina, (open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm) passing the Po River we are in the hill. The beautiful Villa with its gardens and vineyards is a UNESCO site and they produce FREISA Doc of Chieri, a wine that respects the noble origins
 From Villa della Regina we move to the city’s centre arriving at Gran Madre Church. In the square there is a bar, take a break with an Espresso or a good icecream
A short visit at the big Church, built for the King Vittorio Emanuele I di Savoia, very beautiful in the evening lighted, you can see it reflected in the River. Open every day from morning to 7 pm

Crossing the bridge Vittorio Emanuele I you’ll see Via Po, lot of shops, restaurants and cafes, here you can have your lunch break

Via Po connect Piazza Vittorio Veneto to Piazza Castello, where there is  the Royal Palace, the Library, the armoury. Open from Tuesday to Suterday 8.30 am – 6 pm

Near the Royal Palace is the San Lorenzo Church, with its important dome. This Church is called Real Chiesa, as desired by Savoia Family. A particularity:  outside you don’t think that is a Church but just a palace, any decoration outside, this too was desired by Savoia

You can decide How to finish this beautiful day rich of tours:

  1. In Piazza Castello is Palazzo Madama with collection from Middle Ages to Baroque and different Exibitions. Open from 10am to 6pm, closed on Tuesday
  2. Crossing the courtyard of Palazzo Reale you reach the Dom, where you can see a copy of Holy Shroud where some monitors show the history and the research about the sheet knows all over the world
  3. In alternativ: walking through Via Garibaldi that is considered the longest European shopping street.  On the corner with Via  della Consolata, passing Piazza Savoia you’ll see Santuario della Consolata , masterpiece of Piedmontese Baroque, it is one of the most loved places of worship by the Turinese.

In Piazza della Consolata have a break to taste the best Bicerin of the city, the tipycal drink based on coffee, chocolade and milk cream

The day is over, but is rich of memories to  bring at home. History and culture of Turin that gives charm and emotion in every corner…
